Terms and Conditions
The following Terms and Conditions apply to the online purchase or booking of any Goods or Services from Melanesian Tourist Services. Such services include but are not limited to hotel accommodation, Kalibobo Spirit charter and cruise holidays.
Melanesian Tourist Services Papua New Guinea (MTSPNG) accepts credit cards to allow for the booking of services that it provides. Please read the following information carefully as it discloses the practices used for accepting and processing credit cards.
1. BOOKING OF ACCOMMODATION
A. Booking Terms
All bookings are made in Australian Dollars (AUD).
Papua New Guinea GST (Goods and Services Tax) is not applicable when FULL prepayment of accommodation, vessel charter or cruise holiday is made prior to arrival in PNG. Any portion of your payment made following arrival in PNG will attract 10% GST.
All bookings entered will not be final until confirmation has been sent via email. Please provide up to 24 hours for confirmation of booking.
No money will be debited from your credit card until your booking has been confirmed.
All online payments are accepted over a 128-bit SSL connection.
We accept booking from all countries, please note that we reserve the right to decline bookings from customers who are not permitted to legally enter Papua New Guinea.
The following will be debited from your card on confirmation:
- Accommodation: The first nights cost of your accommodation
- Kalibobo Spirit Charter: 50% non-refundable deposit of total charter cost unless booking made within 14 days of charter when full payment is due
- Cruise Holiday: 50% of the quoted cruise holiday unless booking made within 30 days of sailing when full payment is due
B. Final Payment
Final payment details are:
- Accommodation: Upon checkout.
- Kalibobo Spirit Charter:
Full payment is to be made no later than 14 working days prior to the charter.
- Cruise Holiday:
Full payment is to be made no later than 30 days prior to sailing.
C. Cancellations and Refunds
The following conditions apply in respect to cancellation:
All notices of cancellations must be made in writing.
More than 48 hours prior to check-in time - full refund
Less than 48 hours or no show - no refund
- Cruise Holiday:
More than 30 days prior to sailing - full refund less 20% cancellation fee
Less than 30 days prior to sailing - no refund
2. GENERAL CONDITIONS INVOLVED WITH PURCHASES
A. PARTIES INVOLVED
There are three key parties involved during the purchase:
The first party is the purchaser, referred to in these conditions as YOU. When making any purchase you are required to provide information that is correct and up to date.
The second party involved is the Melanesian Tourist Services (MTSPNG), as the provider of the services offered MTSPNG will take payment for services provided by itself or subsidiary companies (e.g. Madang Resort Hotel, Kalibobo Village, etc.).
The third party involved it the Westpac Bank of Australia (WESTPAC), Westpac's Merchant facilities will be used to collect your credit card details, and aquire the amount required for payment. All credit card information is sent directly to, and is controlled by Westpac Bank. MTSPNG does not directly aquire or store any credit card information when an online purchase is made.
B. CUSTOMER INFORMATION
Any information provided by YOU when making a purchase from this site will be sent to one of two parties.
Information regarding your booking and contact details will be sent solely and directly to MTSPNG.
Information regarding your credit card will be sent solely to directly to WESTPAC (via their own Merchant Payment Page). MTSPNG will be able to process and view transaction information provided to WESTPAC but not be able to see any full credit card numbers after you have entered them.
Credit Card information is transmitted directly to Westpac via Westpac's 128bit SSL Certificate.
No information will be provided to another party (with the exception of law enforcement authorities) unless stated prior to entry, or your without acknowledgment via email.
It is YOUR responsibility that all information entered is correct and up to date, failure to do so may result in loss of payment or goods/services, under which case a refund may be refused.
